Scope

These terms describe use of the official App Store editions of Casebound for Mac and Casebound Recorder for iPhone and iPad, the Google Play edition of Casebound Recorder for Android, and this product website. The apps are intended for adult professional users. If you use an app for an organization, you must have authority to do so and follow that organization's requirements.

Your app license and store terms

For apps obtained from Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless a separate custom EULA is expressly supplied through the App Store. Read the Standard EULA at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. This page supplements product-use information and does not replace that agreement, Apple's usage rules or mandatory rights. If this page conflicts with those applicable licensing terms, the applicable licensing terms take precedence.

For the Android app obtained from Google Play, the publisher grants you a non-exclusive license to install and use Casebound Recorder on devices you own or control for its documented purposes, subject to these terms and the applicable Google Play terms. This license does not transfer ownership of the app. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their own licenses, available in the app and at https://caseboundapp.com/notices/. Nothing here restricts rights those licenses or applicable law grant you.

Documentation assistance and professional review

Casebound helps prepare clinical documentation. Generated transcripts, speaker labels, quotations, summaries and note drafts can omit information, misattribute speakers or invent details. Review the original recording or transcript, correct every draft and make your own professional decisions before approving, exporting or relying on a record. A draft's completion or an automated check is not evidence that its content is accurate. The recorder companion captures and transfers audio; transcription and note drafting require the separately distributed compatible Mac app.

Casebound does not provide medical advice, make an autonomous diagnosis, select a treatment or monitor emergencies. Do not rely on it to assess immediate risk or deliver urgent care. These terms do not claim that the product has received medical-device approval, clinical certification or validation for a particular specialty or language. Determine whether its capabilities, limitations and applicable requirements fit your professional use.

Consent and authorized information

Record, import, enroll a voice or process information only when you have the necessary authority and have obtained any required participant consent. Respect confidentiality, privacy, intellectual-property rights and your organization's policies. You remain responsible for the lawful basis for handling clinical information, required notices and consents, retention periods, disclosures and the accuracy of your final clinical record. Do not use the apps for covert or otherwise unlawful recording.

Your records and device security

You retain your rights in the content you provide and the records you create. You do not grant the publisher permission to access local clinical content merely by using the apps. The privacy policy at https://caseboundapp.com/privacy/ explains data handling, model downloads, local transfers and support communications.

Protect your devices and passphrases, use suitable access controls, and select appropriate export and backup destinations. The publisher cannot recover a forgotten clinical-profile passphrase or remotely restore deleted local records. Make and test appropriate backups. Exported files may be readable outside the app, and third-party sync or backup services you choose can copy them elsewhere. Recorder recordings are excluded from device backups; transfer important recordings before replacing or resetting the device. Confirm the pairing code on both devices and verify the received recording before relying on a transfer.

Availability, requirements and updates

The requirements and supported features are described on the product and support pages and in the store listing. Initial Mac model setup requires an internet connection, storage and downloads from third-party hosts. Those hosts and app stores operate their own services under their own terms. Compatible installed models allow core processing to run locally. Availability and performance depend on your device, storage, operating system and the material being processed; no specific processing speed or error-free operation is promised here.

Install supported updates and review material changes before using a changed workflow with clinical information. Store availability, compatibility and features may change. Changes remain subject to the applicable store agreement and mandatory rights, including any rights concerning updates and conformity of digital products.

Purchases and refunds

The price and availability shown by the relevant official store at the time of purchase apply. Casebound Recorder is a free companion; Casebound for Mac is distributed separately. There is no external activation key or in-app subscription in these editions. Apple or Google, as applicable, handles store transactions, installation and updates. Use the store's purchase and refund process. Nothing in these terms limits any statutory cancellation, refund, conformity, warranty or other consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Acceptable use and third-party rights

Do not use the apps or website unlawfully, interfere with their security, distribute malicious material through them, or misrepresent generated drafts as independently verified clinical findings. Do not copy or redistribute proprietary app components without permission, except where permitted by applicable law, store licensing terms or an applicable open-source license. Third-party notices are at https://caseboundapp.com/notices/ and remain part of the relevant component licenses.

Support and ending use

For support, contact mihail.duchev@icloud.com. Send only nonclinical or fictional examples with the app and operating-system versions and steps to reproduce the problem. Do not send clinical recordings, transcripts, patient identifiers, passwords or encrypted backups. The support address is not an emergency or patient-care service.

You can stop using the apps at any time. Before removing an app or its records, preserve any information you are legally required to keep in an appropriate destination. Uninstalling a recorder removes its remaining local recordings but does not remove copies already transferred to your Mac or exported elsewhere. Applicable store licensing terms govern termination of the license. Ending use does not remove mandatory rights or obligations concerning records already created.

Your legal rights

These terms do not add a monetary liability cap, mandatory arbitration clause or waiver of rights. Any limitations contained in an applicable store license are subject to the law that applies to you. Nothing here excludes responsibilities or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, or replaces the professional duties that apply to your work.
